Google Bad for the Environment

Research from physicist Alex Wissner-Gross shows that performing two Google searches uses as much energy as boiling the kettle for a cup of tea. And you thought the private jets the liberals running Google use were bad for the environment.

A typical search generates about 7g of CO2, the deadly enemy that is causing the mass hallucination known as global warming. There are about 200 million searches done daily. Think about how much damage has already been done in concerns to global warming and the environment. I wonder if the liberals who want to cripple businesses because of their CO2 emissions will go after the biggest offenders first. Dream on. Of course, Google will get off with a song and a dance. Such is politics.

“Google operates huge data centres around the world that consume a great deal of power. A Google search has a definite environmental impact.” — Alex Wissner-Gross, Harvard University physicist

“Data centres are among the most energy-intensive facilities imaginable.” — Evan Mills, scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California.
